Source Of Raw Materials For High-quality HPMC Capsules
Capsule-Grade HPMC is a raw material specially used to produce HPMC capsules. Compared with other hydroxypropyl cellulose, capsule-grade HPMC has the advantages of lower chromium content, high light transmittance, good whiteness, and low ash content. For gelatin capsules, the main ingredient is gelatin, which contains lysine, which will cross-link with aldehyde groups, resulting in delayed disintegration of the drug wrapped in gelatin capsules. However, HPMC capsules are more stable in chemical properties, do not undergo cross-linking, do not add any preservatives, have wide adaptability and high safety.
Through research, it has been found that gelatin capsules become brittle when the water content is less than 10%, so it is necessary to maintain its water content; but for HPMC capsules, even if the water content reaches 1%, it will not be affected in any way. Excessive water content has a great influence on the stability of moisture-sensitive drugs. For the contents with strong hygroscopicity, if gelatin hollow capsules are used, the water will migrate from the shell to the contents, and the water of the shell will become hard and brittle, resulting in delayed disintegration, but there is no such phenomenon when using HPMC hollow capsules.
Kapptai provides high-quality raw materials for the production of HPMC capsules. The capsules produced by our HPMC are safe, non-toxic, non-allergenic and non-irritating, so consumers can use them with confidence. And the product complies with United States Pharmacopoeia(USP) and European Pharmacopoeia (EP).
