Description
Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a glycosaminoglycan with a sulfate group, which is polymerized by N-acetylgalactosamine and glucuronic acid. Chondroitin sulfate is one of the components of the extracellular matrix in connective tissue. Chondroitin sulfate is found in skin, bones, cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Chondroitin sulfate in cartilage can provide cartilage with the ability to resist mechanical compression.
